That wiley German jury finally made its decision, and this year's Spiel des Jahre winner is Dominion.

woo-hoo.  la-de-freakin'-da.

Definitely disappointed.  I was obviously hoping that Pandemic, or maybe even Fauna since I learned more about it, would have won.  Apparently, I (and most other gamers that I know personally) must be immune to the drugs that they coat on the Dominion cards.  I mean, it's a solid game and it's relatively innovative, but it's also very one-dimensional. 

But this was definitely the most competitive and interesting SdJ since I've been into modern boardgaming, and I still congratulate Donald Vaccarino, Rio Grande Games, and Hans im Gluck for the win!
