Variants for Tales of the Arabian Nights

Z-Man Games just posted three variants for Tales of the Arabian Nights!

The variants are:
After reading over them, I know that I don't care a thing about the "Storytelling" thing.  If you really want a storytelling game with this same theme, you should probably check out Meg Baker's 1001 Nights instead.  One of the main reasons I will avoid this variant is that it would have to more than double the play time, which is not really a good thing.

The other two seem interesting, and I'll definitely give it another solo play to see if these rules make much of a difference.  I'll have to think a little about whether I really want player interaction in this game, but overall it seems to be pretty simple to include, and it would fit right in with the theme and the other events in the game.

So, what do y'all think of them?

PvP seems like a crazy-bad idea for this game. It's long enough without sacrificing Destiny points.

Yeah, you're probably right.  It seems pretty rare that characters are in the same space anyway, and I just don't know that the benefit would be worth sacrificing destiny to get (especially if the target could just get out of it using Quick Thinking and a die roll).  Plus, it doesn't seem like it would add much fun to the game.
